Cape Columbine Nature Reserve, South Africa 2020
A Black-headed Heron searches for prey in the wildflowers of the Western Cape, South Africa. The Western Cape and Namaqualand are transformed in colour, as a carpet of flowers blanket the land. The annual flower display is a stunning natural wonder, and truly breathtaking to behold. As the flowers lure in insects from far and wide, birds descend on the area in hope of an easy meal.
